Score and Parts
J.S.BACH was a great admirer of the French Baroque all his life - in the French Suites exactly this special relationship is found as a musical track again. Here the master originally composed for harpsichord in varying numbers of voices six masterful suites, which represent very different in the selection of dances as a whole a self-contained cycle of works. The two-part pieces can be found in the two published volumes as a collection and sound very well with the saxophone. There are no dynamic and articulation signs written, because Bach seemed this also not important – the music is self-explanatory! All pieces require a certain amount of rhythmic and intonatory security. However, the compositions sound very attractive even at a slower tempo.
