Erik Satie composed the Gnossiennes in the late 19th century, inventing this genre as it were. For the most part, the six pieces are written in a time-free form and thus for their time very experimental in form, rhythm and chord structure. The both relaxed and lyrical character of each part has quickly made them and their inventor / composer famous.
In the two editions 6010 and 6011, THOMAS PETER-HORAS presents an adaptation of the Gnossiennes that best suits the character of the pieces and adds another emotional component to the saxophone. Technically relatively easy to play and yet great literature for leisure AND concert!
